Welcome!
Hi! My name is Brenda Edwards. I am currently in my thirteenth year of teaching at MCHS. Previously, I have taught at Huntley High School, as well as Ottawa Marquette High School. I have been married to Jeff for 13 years, and we have two wonderful children, Logan and Alexa. We also have a miniature dachshund named Jasmine.
As we start the school year, please be aware of the following. Algebra 2 students will need to purchase a graphing calculator (TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-84, or TI-84 Plus are recommended). The Math Department has a limited amount of graphing calculators that are available to rent for $20 per school year. If interested, please have your son or daughter talk to me. Algebra 1H and Algebra 1 students will be using department calculators while in class. If you plan on purchasing a scientific calculator for home use, I would recommend the TI-30XIIS or TI-30XIID.
Students can expect an assignment nearly every night. If you notice your son or daughter is struggling, please encourage him or her to come in for extra help. I arrive at school by 7:30 every morning, and stay after school until 3:45. Also, please take advantage of PowerSchool, where students’ grades will be updated every few days. Periodically, students will be given grade reports throughout the term, as well, and will be asked to have them signed and returned.
