Morris Mathletes finish 8th

Thirty-four members of the Morris Mathletes competed in the Lemont Invitational Math Contest on Wednesday, January 27. Morris finished in 8th place out of the 20 schools who competed.
In third place was the Freshman-Sophomore Relay Team of Harmony Alford, Hannah Hesslau, Kyle Eliakis, and Grace Wojcik. In fourth place were two Junior-Senior Relay Teams, including Kyle Jorstad, Taylor Wolfer, Joel McVey, Arianna Pempe, Nick Terhall, Katelyn Mantey, Ali Chatten, and Tamra Kren. Also in fourth place was the Pre-Calculus Team of Ali Chatten, Tamra Kren, David Mantey, Joel McVey, Arianna Pempe, Kelsey Schluntz, Jake Waldron, and Kaity Washburn.
Finishing in fifth place was Algebra II Team of William Del Toro, Chris Gallick, Kyle Jorstad, Katie Kreig, Katelyn Mantey, Ryley Steele, Nick Terhall, Taylor Wolfer, and Tom Woodard. The Freshman/Sophomore 8-Person Team also finished in 5th place, and that team included Paul Kolotka, Katie Lincoln, Kevin Wendling, Kyle Eliakis, Lauren Sokolinski, Hannah Hesslau, Fernando Del Toro, and Harmony Alford. Also in 5th place was the Junior-Senior 8-Person Team of William Del Toro, Chris Gallick, Kyle Jorstad, Taylor Wolfer, Ali Chatten, Joel McVey, Arianna Pempe, and Kelsey Schluntz.
A perfect paper was written by Arianna Pempe in Pre-Calculus.
The Morris Mathletes are coached by Mr. Vahle, Mrs. Shannon, and Mr. Ortiz.
