Former NFL Player Returns Home

March 02, 2016

Morris Community High School graduate Ed Brady, Class of 1980, was recently honored by the National Football League (NFL) during the celebration of the 50th Super Bowl game.  This honor came in the form of a commemorative Golden Football that was sent to MCHS with Ed Brady's name imprinted on it, because of his active participation in a past Super Bowl.  Ed played with the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII years after a successful high school career when he was a member of the Morris Community High School IHSA 1979 State Runner-Up football team.  Not long after the most recent Super Bowl weekend, Ed stopped into MCHS on a visit back home with three of his four sons.  It was during this visit that he autographed both the commemorative ball and his own fall 1979 high school football jersey.  Flattered by the obvious depth of this NFL initiative and celebration, Ed joins his peers across the nation as one of hundreds celebrated for their active roster status in any one of the fifty Super Bowl games, now all part of the NFL's storied history.  Ed's autographed high school jersey and the autographed commemorative ball are currently on display in the high school main office, but will eventually be displayed in our high school trophy case along with a picture of Ed in his Cincinnati Bengals uniform.  Morris Community High School is extremely proud to claim Mr. Ed Brady as one of it's own, and humbled to share in this celebration of his successful career in the NFL.
