Welcome to the LRC
I have been the Media Director at MCHS since 1998. During the last decade, the library (also referred to as the Media Center, Learning Resource Center or LRC) has seen many changes. We have automated the library, as well as added a computer lab, multimedia retrieval system, online resources, and audiobooks. Our library is a member of the RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) which allows us to share resources with libraries from around the state and beyond.
I believe it is important to expose students to the necessary resources for students to succeed, not only at Morris High School, but throughout their lifetime. In doing so we must provide resources in various formats that will prepare them for their future, while teaching them to use these resources effectively and responsibly. Having the experience of using electronic resources, students leaving MCHS will be better prepared to use the vast array of electronic resources they will encounter in their futures. Our online resources include informational databases and electronic books. In order to provide additional research opportunities, all of our online resources can be accessed at home, using the schools logins and passwords.
